The Ruling concerning Mawlid an-Nabawi
A book in English in which Sh. Saleh al-Fawzan enumerated several reasons behind the prohibition of celebrating the Prophetic birthday and explicitly clarified the major doubts raised up by the proponents of Mawlid. This includes the claims that: (1) This celebration is honoring the Prophet, (2) It is celebrated by a large number of people in many towns and cities, (3) It renews the memories of the Prophet, and (4) It is a good innovation because it is a means of showing gratitude towards Allah for sending the Prophet. This celebration is out of love for the Prophet, which is permissible.
